Task Logic
The Task Logic screen introduced in ChainLink 6 Release 16 has been enhanced to include all the Link data and displays the Link using the selected Line Type. Editable Link lines are show in green, which becomes red when selected, non-editable Link lines are shown in grey.
New Tasks can now be added to the project on this screen by clicking on the Add Task button on the toolbar.
A Task, complete with all it's Links, can be deleted from the project on this screen by clicking on the Delete Task button on the toolbar.
Links can be added by right mouse clicking on the Task ID or Task Name of the Task or Link and selecting 'Add Predecessor' or 'Add Successor' from the popup menu. The Task to Link from or Link to can be selected from the new Task Selector utility or a completely new Task can be added to form the start or end of the Link.
Links can be deleted by selecting a Link then right mouse clicking on the Task ID or Task Name of the Link and selecting 'Delete Link' from the popup menu.
Data Selector
To assign a Task to Link from or Link to, a Bar Code, a Colour or a Resource to a Task(s) four new items have been added to the popup menus, Bar Code Selection, Colour Selection and Resource Selection. The Colour Selection option has two sub options Library Colours and Custom Colours and the Link to... and Link from... use the new Task Selector utility rather than the main Task table.
Bar Code Selector
When Bar Codes Selection is selected then a Table Dialog appears showing the library Bar Codes.
The Bar Code Selector comprises two tables Project Library and Personal Library. To switch between the tables click on the appropriate tab name at the top of the table.
To select a Bar Code click on the appropriate row of the table and then click the Apply button, the Bar Code will be applied to the selected Task(s) and the dialog will disappear. If the Personal library is used the selected Bar Code will be added to the Project library.
Colour Selector
The Colour Selector option has two sub-options Library Colours or Custom Colour.
When Custom Colour is selected the Microsoft Windows Colour Dialog is displayed. This option replaces the double-click on the Tasks table colour cell or colour text boxes.
When Colour Selection/Library Colours is selected then a Table Dialog appears showing the Microsoft Windows System Colours and the ChainLink Library Colours.
The Table Dialog comprises three tables, System, Project and Personal . To switch between the tables click on the appropriate tab name at the top of the table.
To select a Colour click on the appropriate row of the displayed table and then click the Apply button, the Colour will be applied to the selected Task(s) and the dialog will disappear. If System or the Personal library is used the selected Colour will be added to the Project library.
The System colours are Named Colours provided by Microsoft Windows, once used the names can be changed, if desired, in the Project library.
This
Colour Selection function can also be used by the
Bar Codes,
Colours and
Resource libraries and for colours in the
Chart Options.
Resource Selector
The Resource Selector comprises two tables Project and Personal. To switch between the tables click on the appropriate tab name at the top of the table.
The Resource Selection option is only available on the Task Details/Resources tab and the Chart Options/Resource Diagrams tab.
To select a
Resource click on the appropriate row of the table and then click the
Apply button, the Resource will be applied to the selected
Task(s)/Resource Diagrams and the dialog will disappear. If the
Personal
library is used the selected
Resource will be added to the
Project library.
