Release 1:Import

The File Import utility is now accessed from a pull-down list on the File Menu or a single button on the File Toolbar.

The utility can now handle both XLS and XLSX files of Microsoft Excel as well as XER, MPX, TXT, CSV and the Clipoard data.

The speed of loading and importing have been increased. The import is some 4x faster than Version 5.

The window has been redesigned for simplicity, however, there are variations dependent on the import file.

For XER and MPX files, Import Links Data, Import WBS Library and Import Resources are shown along with a Default Calendar pull-down list.

For XLS , XLSX , TXT and CSV files, Import Links Data, Import WBS Library and Import Resources are hidden, Default Calendar is replaced by a Header Row selection field and a Date Format field is added.

The Field Matching tables are now shown on three tabbed spreadsheets.

The Tasks data table has been simplified and scrolls upwards as the data is imported, along with the Links , WBS and Resources tables.

An additional option of 'Load WBS Library' has been added to the On Completion pull-down list.

Further checks have been added when importing so any record which does not meet the necessary requirements is 'Rejected'. This includes any header/summary lines.

The limit on Links per Task has been increased to 10 (Professional version only).

A limit of 10 Resources per Task has been set (Professional version only).
